Dan Snyder Memorial Cabinet Installed at the WMC

The rink that bears his name now houses a memorial cabinet dedicated to Dan SnyderAlthough the main ice pad in the Woolwich Memorial Centre bears Dan Snyder's name, the Snyder family wanted to give the community a chance to learn more about Dan. The Foundation commissioned a craftsman to create a very special memorial cabinet on the second level of the Dan Snyder Memorial Arena. The cabinet is now installed for all to enjoy.

The cabinet provides a dedicated memorial to Dan, available to all who enter the WMC. Each new generation of young athletes will have the opportunity to learn about Dan Snyder, a great athlete who learned to play hockey in their hometown, and through hard work and determination, made it all the way to NHL.

The cabinet houses memorabilia such as photos, trophies and other mementos that the Snyder's have generously elected to show to the public. A digital photo frame displays the photos and video that represent Dan and honour his memory.

Dan played single A minor hockey in Woolwich before playing one year with the Sugar Kings. The foundation has therefore donated a section of the showcase to both Woolwich Minor Hockey and the Sugar Kings for their use. The cabinet also acknowledges the many individuals, teams and businesses who supported the fundraising drive to build the Woolwich Memorial Centre.
